Citrus from Terpenes

Pureform’s Cyclic Terpene Assembly (CTA) process produces pure, consistent, THC-free cannabinoids without the use of hemp or cannabis. Pureform’s process uses terpenes to make its CBD using heat, pressure, and precise timing to transform them into pure clean cannabinoids. The CTA process produces the exact same, molecularly identical CBD every time: 99%+ pure and free from toxic impurities, pesticides, mycotoxins, and THC. Because they never use hemp or cannabis in any part of the process, they avoid the issues of cultivating and isolating CBD from a plant. The only thing missing are the agricultural contaminants and THC present in hemp and cannabis derived CBD.
There are no class one or two solvents used in the CTA process. All of the ingredients that go into the process are Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) and everything that comes out are Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS). Pureform’s process converts terpenes into pure and consistent CBD without the use of precious farmland, pesticides, or other natural resources, nothing genetically modified, no ethanol, CO2 or any other harmful toxic solvents.

Because the terpenes found in cannabis are similar to the terpenes found in citrus they could be converted with synthesis into pure CBD identical to those found in cannabis.
If you’ve ever noticed the smell of an orange when you squeeze the peel, that’s the terpenes. Terpenes are a class of compounds that are found in nature. The citrus derived terpene Pureform uses in their process is called Limonene. These organic compounds are similar in structure to CBD and the particular molecules and concentrations of each give different cannabis strains their distinctive aromas and flavors. Terpenes have many similar attributes that make them the focus of research.
Pureform started as a small group of natural products chemists with decades of effort dedicated to deriving cannabinoids from natural sources other than hemp or cannabis. The process they developed produces high quality, regulatory compliant CBD that is safe, consistent and pure. Pureform’s CTA  process enabled cannabinoid production at commercial scale and with unmatched purity. The purity, consistency and reproducibility makes PureForm CBD a superior ingredient, removing all the risks associated with THC contamination and the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).
There are no national standards for the testing and labeling of CBD products in the U.S. Cannabis has been mutating for thousands of years. Hemp and cannabis are some of the most efficient bioaccumulator/phytoremediators. Phytoremediation is the process by which a plant absorbs heavy metals and other chemical wastes from soil. Heavy metals and chemical waste are not only difficult to remove, but also hard to identify and test for. The heavy metals, toxic impurities and chemical contaminants in hemp are well documented and present in many finished CBD products. There is currently no national standard for the testing and labeling of CBD products,
As medical professionals we haven't been comfortable using or recommending CBD from hemp or cannabis. Synthesized CBD is the only form of CBD that will be accepted by mainstream consumers and medical professionals. CBD from hemp and cannabis is inconsistent, still mostly illegally farmed, unsustainable, and plagued by the erratic seasonal issues with farming.
So while Pureform is synthetic, it's only because it's been synthesized – it is molecularly identical to naturally-occurring CBD and has exactly the same effects. Pureform’s process yields the exact same molecule found in nature, in every way, it is identical.
