GENERAL QUESTIONS

These terms are interchangeable depending on where in the world you live. Outside of the US the term nature-identical is most common and in the US it’s bio-identical. Both terms describe, in this case, a cannabinoid that has been made through synthesis and which is chemically and molecularly identical to the same cannabinoid found in nature.

An extract is something that has been removed and concentrated. In the case of cannabinoid extraction from industrial hemp, there are a few methods for extraction. The two most common methods are CO2-based, supercritical extraction using liquid gas and pressure, and a solvent-based process which is similar but which uses butane, ethanol, or propane instead of CO2.

An isolate is something that has been separated and isolated from its other parts. In the case of cannabinoids isolated from industrial hemp, the process for isolation is similar to that of extraction. The main differences are extra washing and purification steps. The initial wash involves hexane, acetic acid and an extracting hydrocarbon, and requires a secondary wash to remove these solvents and to separate them from the desired finished compound. The next step utilizes preparative chromatography in which chemicals are used to separate solvents and other cannabinoids. The last and final step is distillation, which is necessary in order to remove additional residual solvents and chemicals.

DiolPure is neither an isolate nor an extract. DiolPure uses PureForm CBD®, which is made from terpenes in a cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)-compliant facility under the regulation by the FDA pursuant to the FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act). PureForm has also self affirmed GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe)

No. DiolPure products are made with Pureform CBD which is made from Terpenes. Pureform CBD never uses Hemp or Cannabis in any part of their process. All DiolPure products are non-psychoative, with no THC, or mold, and are also pesticide-free and non-addictive.

DiolPure is not organic certified, however, we use organic ingredients whenever possible. DiolPure products never have any pesticides, insecticides, rodenticides, heavy metals, mycotoxins or humic acid in our products. DiolPure is free from the risks and asterisks associated with phytoremediator/ bioaccumulator plants such as hemp and cannabis. PureForm CBD®, the CBD in DiolPure, has been awarded multiple awards for purity, including pesticide-free and THC-free certifications from the Clean Label Project.

We are committed to the environment and supporting local responsible and sustainable partners.

There is no standard definition of “natural”. DiolPure is committed to using only the highest quality ingredients. We hold ourselves to the highest standards and live up to our promise of tested, proven and pure. All of the ingredients we use are Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) and our products are made under Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and only in FDA audited and monitored facilities under cGMP conditions.

We are responsible stewards of the environment and do not use any class 1 or 2 solvents in any parts of our manufacturing process. All of our products are non-GMO, cruelty free, vegan, gluten free, paraben free, phthalate free, free from synthetic fragrances, artificial colors, dyes, pesticides, herbicides and insecticides. All DiolPure products are tested rigeroulsy using validated HPLC methods to ensure that our products are safe for the entire family.

Cannabinoids are a group of over 140 different compounds found in the cannabis plant. These compounds have been shown to affect specific receptors where they produce therapeutic impact. They have primarily come from cannabis until PureForm CBD was developed using a process to synthesize them using terpenes instead of hemp or cannabis.

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is comprised of cannabinoid receptors and corresponding endocannabinoids. The endocannabinoids are produced by the body and fit exactly into the receptors, much like a lock and key. The body’s cannabinoid receptors also interact with exogenous ligands and phytocannabinoids, which are found in bothplants and synthetic cannabinoids. These exogenous cannabinoids may have different or stronger effects on the receptors than endogenous cannabinoids, but ultimately they are working with the same locks.

Two types of cannabinoid receptors are currently known, termed CB1 and CB2, as well as an orphan receptor, GPR55, which is being studied, and may be a third.  All three are transmembrane receptors, which mean they can send a signal obtained from outside of the cell. They are found in different concentrations in different tissues, and are known to interact differently with specific cannabinoids.  For example, CB1 receptors are found in high concentrations in the brain and central nervous system, as well as in a number of organs. CB2 receptors, on the other hand, are found largely in immune cells, as well as peripheral nerve, skin, and bone cells. The ECS supports cells and healthy immune system function, despite fluctuations in our external environment.

The ECS has a fairly unique function in the body. In many ways, it serves to regulate homeostasis, by modulating the release of other neurotransmitters, which may be excitatory or inhibitory.  Besides its own ligands, the ECS interacts with most of the major neurotransmitters including acetylcholine, dopamine, GABA, histamine, serotonin, glutamate, norepinephrine, prostaglandins, and opioid compounds. The specific action of different cannabinoids (both endogenous, phyto, and synthetic) can be explained by their differential action on receptor subtypes.  For example, activation of receptors in the gastrointestinal system may cause increased appetite, while suppression of those receptors would cause decrease in appetite.  Similarly, different cannabinoids cause different effects on the CB2 receptors found in the immune system, which is why some activate the immune system and others suppress it.

The widespread locations and interactions of the ECS presents tremendous potential for healthier living solutions. Cannabinoids have shown promise in a broad range of diseases, reflecting the presence of cannabinoid receptors in every organ system and almost every tissue in the body, and many more are likely to be elucidated as the science advances. By tailoring cannabinoid therapeutics to target only specific receptor subtypes, more targeted effects are feasible. This type of approach is nearly impossible when using plant-based extracts, as the concentration and purity of the cannabinoid composition is highly variable.

The entourage effect is a description popularized by Israeli scientist Raphael Mechoulam. The hypothesis of the entourage effect is that many different chemical compounds found in cannabis, when all or many are present, have a synergistic effect greater than that of any individual cannabinoid. This effect has not been proven to exist. An unmeasured amount of an unknown broad spectrum of chemical compounds may have an effect greater than a single compound. However it is impossible to know without identifying the chemical constituents and being able to repeat the same ingredients profile. Hemp is cannabis and it has been growing and mutating for thousands of years and as such contains inconsistent and varying amounts of cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes, in many cases, little or none. The resulting product is inconsistent and unreliable. The question is, what combination of these chemical compounds could be having effect if the ratio of hundreds of chemical compounds are not only different from plant to plant but from crop to crop? In the most controlled cannabis cultivations cannabinoid profile varies by 20-40%, and in many instances, many of the less common cannabinoids are not present, and certainly not measured, making any standardization impossible. There is a small body of research to support the benefits and synergistic effect of cannabinoids and other compounds. Until there is a way to document and standardize the chemical composition of a drug or supplement the entourage effect will still be hypothetical. There are many plants and naturally derived products that are made up of both medicinal and lethal chemicals. A  recent study from the University of Sydney found no evidence for the entourage effect. When scientists could not demonstrate whether or not the six most common terpenes found in Cannabis have any effect on the CB1 or CB2 receptors directly, or have the ability to modulate the action of THC on those receptors. Hopefully we will see more research exploring the hypothesis of the entourage effect. For the moment, it remains a “buzz” phrase that doesn't have solid scientific backing. Research does however show that adding THC to CBD can make CBD have a stronger effect on pain which is promising. Just because it's natural doesn't mean it's safe. You should know what’s in what goes in and on your body.

Broad spectrum products contain an unknown and unmeasured range of naturally-occurring chemical compounds from the cannabis plant, typically with low amounts of THC. Full spectrum products contain an unknown and unmeasured amount of all the compounds of the cannabis plant, including THC. We can’t recommend consuming a product that has an unknown amount of unknown chemical compounds in it. There are no standards for testing or labeling of CBD products. We can't think of another product that people consume in concentrated doses that naturally contains a high percentage of a controlled substance, that's controlled because it's highly psychoactive, that doesn’t have regulations for labeling and testing. THC is a powerful and effective molecule for many things and we celebrate its use in medical research and therapeutics. However, there are over 400 compounds in cannabis. Most have not been studied due to antiquated legal restrictions limiting the source material needed for research. We are sure cannabinoids will be an important player in the next decade's medical discovery. Than, however, doesn't mean that ingesting an unknown and unmeasured mixture of chemical compounds that are found in varying percentages is safe. Just because something is from a plant and natural doesn't make it safe or effective. From Nightshade to Castor Oil plants and Euphorbia, there are countless natural plants that have both medicinal potential and are toxic and in some cases lethal. There is very little research to support the hypothesis of the synergistic benefits of the entourage effect. In fact, there is a growing body of evidence to the contrary. There is also significant anecdotal evidence that should not be ignored. But until there's a measured, reproducible, blend ratio, it can't be safe to consume something  unknown, unmeasured and different every time. You should know what is going in and on your body.

Unfortunately, the claims of the effectiveness of broad and full spectrum products appear to be driven by marketing rather than science.

All DiolPure Products are zero THC.

Zero should mean zero. Often, CBD companies that claim their products are THC free or zero THC in fact don't mean that; what they mean is their products are below the 0.3 legal requirement for THC.  There are no national standards or oversight for testing or labeling of CBD products in the U.S. According to a recent study performed by the non-profit consumer advocacy organization the Clean Label Project, “100% of full spectrum products making THC-free claims actually contained THC” 242 total products were tested in their study and THC was one of many contaminants found that were either not listed or mislabeled. There is a growing body of independent third party research showing that, not only is the labeling of CBD products inconsistent, but more alarmingly intentionally misleading and in many cases hiding high amounts of THC. In the U.S. Almost 60% of employers require a drug screening prior to or during employment. THC exposure can stay in your system for weeks and months and can build on earlier exposure leading to a positive drug test result. Many CBD brands provide disclaimers of THC exposure on products labeled ‘zero” THC. With answers referencing individual metabolism, or the conversions of cannabinoids in one's body, and or tell you to consult a physician before use. Further, many claim that the inclusion of THC makes the product more effective. However there is little scientific data to support the hypothesis that the entourage effect is more than a creative marketing effort. In fact there is a significant amount of peer reviewed published evidence suggesting that it is at best still hypothetical. The theory that THC is necessary or that a myriad of other unknown chemical compounds that are in unmeasured and present in inconsistent quantities can have an effect doesn't make sense logically, anecdotally or scientifically. If the ingredients are different every time, how can the effect be reliable, consistent or safe? Cannabinoid products need to be measured, consistent and reliable and labeling should be truthful and accurate.  Zero should mean Zero.

Hemp is cannabis and cannabis is one of the most efficient bioaccumulator/ phytoremediator plants.  Phytoremediation refers to a plant absorbing heavy metals and other chemical wastes from soil. Phytoremediation is an efficient method for absorbing toxic waste from soil and allowing it to be removed via the plant's biomass and then remediated. However, it’s not desirable as a biomass that will be used to extract or isolate distilled products for human and animal consumption. Heavy metals and chemical waste are not only difficult to remove, but also hard to identify and test for. There are no standards for testing or labeling of CBD products in the U.S. The heavy metals, toxic impurities and chemical contaminants in hemp are well documented. According to a recent study performed by the non-profit consumer advocacy organization the Clean Label Project, “The top 10 CBD brands averaged 34ppb of Lead, that’s higher than the 23ppb of Lead that was found in the Flint Michigan water crisis”  They tested 242 total products and the results were alarming. The most common pesticides found in the study were Propiconazole, Pyrimethanil, and Azoxystrobin, all powerful pesticides. Because there is no national standard or regulatory body overseeing the testing of CBD products, CBD brands can pick and choose what to test for and where and when to test. What's more, many practice what’s called “lab shopping”, which allows the company testing the CBD to choose things like limits of detection and what is an acceptable level of impurity. There is a growing body of independent third party research showing that, not only are test results inconsistent but are made more problematic by the lack of universal testing standards. Even small amounts of neurotoxins, mycotoxins and THC can stay in your system and can build on earlier exposure leading to neurotoxicity. Just because it’s natural doesn’t mean it's safe.

WHAT IS CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of over 100+ chemical compounds called cannabinoids, commonly found in the Cannabis plant of the Cannabaceae family. CBD is non-psychoactive, while other cannabinoids like THC produce the psychotropic ‘high’ effects associated with marijauna. Marijuana is not CBD. CBD is a single compound that can be, both found in cannabis or independently synthesized. Marijuana naturally produces many cannabinoids - compounds like THC and CBD. To the medical research community, and the general public, CBD is one of the most promising of these compounds. CBD is being researched for a wide variety of treatments, including pain management, anxiety relief, inflammation reduction, gastrointestinal support, and mobility therapies.

Significant overlap exists among neuropsychiatric diseases including anxiety, sleep disorders, and post-traumaticstress disorder, all of which may be aided by cannabinoid therapeutics.

Anxiety and sleep disorders affect over 20% of adults in the U.S. (1) , and are strongly correlated with each other aswell as with depression. Chronic anxiety and sleep disorders are thought to contribute to a number of other healthconditions, including cardiac disease and pain (2) , and also lead to significant loss of productivity and quality of lifefor sufferers. PTSD, though impacting a smaller portion of the population, still affects about 8 million men, women andchildren in the U.S. each year, and lacks effective treatments (3).

Cannabinoids have shown promising anti-anxiety effects and are thought to cause this through action on bothserotonin and endocannabinoid pathways (4,5). They have also been found to improve sleep quality and reducesleep disturbances in patients with organic sleep disorders (6), and these effects have promise in treating PTSD aswell (7, 8).

Across the globe, hundreds of millions are affected by chronic pain, and many suffer despite using availabletherapeutics. There is a critical need for safe, non-habit forming pain medications. One third of Americansexperience chronic pain (1) which impacts the quality of life of both patients and their families. Cannabinoids haveshown promise in treating a number of pain conditions including notoriously difficult to treat neuropathic pain (2) aswell as inflammatory pain conditions such as arthritis (3). They act on endogenous cannabinoid receptors as well asopioid, serotonin, and glutamate signaling pathways, all of which are involved in modulating pain (4).

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) filed U.S. Patent 6,630,507 "Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants", the patent was assigned in October 2003 to "The United States Department Of Health And Human Services." The patent references cannabidiol’s lack of toxicity or serious side effects in large acute doses, its neuroprotective properties, its ability to prevent neurotoxicity, as an antiepileptic, its ability to attenuate glutamate toxicity, its ability to protect against cellular damage, its ability to protect the brain from ischemic damage, its anxiolytic effect, and its superior antioxidant activity which can be used in the prophylaxis and treatment of oxidation associated diseases.

The ideal dosage varies significantly from person to person. We recommend starting with a low dose of 20-30mg, and increasing the amount until you find the result that's right for you. It can take days or weeks for CBD to be effective.

There are many factors to consider, including severity of symptoms, individual biochemistry, metabolism, and consistency of dosing. Many people report improvement in 15-30 minutes and others may need days of regular consistent use to experience the benefits. DiolPure products are safe to travel within the United States. When travelling internationally you should consult local laws and regulations.

We recommend consulting your veterinary professional before giving your pet CBD. That said, there are many happypets and their owners who think our CBD is great. All mammals have endocannabinoid receptors, and so can respond to CBD.

Sublingual oil drops are a way of taking CBD. It involves placing CBD oil under the tongue, to be absorbed and dissolved into the bloodstream through the mucous membranes. The area underneath the tongue contains tiny blood capillaries which absorb our CBD directly into your bloodstream without passing through the digestive system.

There is no standard for the use of the term THC-free. All hemp and cannabis contain THC. DiolPure products are not derived from hemp or cannabis. Unfortunately the term “THC-free”, as used on many product labels, does not actually mean free of THC. A product with less than 0.3% THC can be labeled THC-free, but again that isn’t the same as free of THC. In addition independent testing has shown that many CBD products not only are not THC-free, but contain significant amounts of THC. DiolPure products don’t require asterisks to denote some kind of tolerance or allowance of THC, since all DiolPure products are free of THC. According to a recent study performed by the non-profit consumer advocacy organization the Clean Label Project®, “100% of full spectrum products making THC-free claims actually contained THC” 242 CBD products were tested in their study and THC was one of many contaminants found that were either not listed or mislabeled.

All DiolPure products are tested by independent third party laboratories.

No.

All DiolPure products are non-psychoactive - they can’t make you “high.” Unlike hemp and cannabis, DiolPure products cannot contain psychoactive THC. DiolPure products are made with PureForm CBD which is made from terpenes found in orange peels. PureForm CBD never uses hemp or cannabis in any part of its process. It is free of THC, mold, and pesticides, and is non-addictive.

Place the dropper in bottle, gently squeeze the rubber end, and release to fill the dropper to the desired amount. Place the glass tip under your tongue and gently squeeze the rubber end to dispense. Always avoid touching the dropper to your mouth in order to avoid bacteria or contamination.

Medium Chain Triglyceride (MCT) oil is made of medium-length chains of fats called triglycerides. Due to their shorter length, MCTs are thought to be more easily digested than longer-chain fatty acids found in many other foods. DiolPure uses MCT oil from organic Coconuts.

Our dropper is specially designed for our bottles and is not supposed to fill the entire dropper. When you squeeze and release the rubber dropper, you are receiving the full dose stated on the package. You squeeze the rubber end with less pressure and receive a smaller dose, if desired.

The 30ml bottles contain 30, one mL servings.

A half-full dropper holds 1 mL

The 1000mg Daily Support is 33mg of CBD per dose.

The 3000mg Daily Support is 100mg of CBD per dose.
